The studio automatically disarms 10 minutes before studio hours. Members that key in too early and trip the alarm will be charged $20.
If you are the first person in the studio, turn on the lights

Allow yourself no less than 15 minutes to clean your workspace(s), mop, wipe down ware boards, bats, tools, wedging table, and sink.
If you are the last one to leave the studio, lock the door, make sure roll down door is closed, and switch off the lights.
The studio alarm automatically arms 10 minutes past closing. Members that remain in the studio and trip the alarm will be charged a $20 fee.

Full membership includes one personal shelf.
Please only store work on your designated shelf with the exception of pieces that are too tall for your shelf. Tall pieces may be stored on the top communal shelves.

If you need to move another artist’s piece to make space on a shelf, move it by the ware board. NEVER pick it up with one hand or by the rim.
If you accidentally break another person’s piece, please leave a note.
If someone has headphones on, it typically means they prefer to be in their own creative bubble. Please respect their space.
Keep your voice at a low level and when using the bluetooth speaker, keep it at a low level and check in with other members to make sure they are okay with music being played.
Take cell phone conversations outside.

To keep the studio production flowing smoothly, it is important to keep work moving from member shelf > greenware shelf > glaze shelf > home as consistently as possible.
To prevent pile up on the shelves, pieces that have been sitting for over one month on any given shelf will be reclaimed or thrown out.
The member clay storage shelving is limited to the equivalent of 25 lbs per member. Please keep track of your clay and do not abandon hard, dried out portions of clay on the community clay storage shelves.

Lock the front door from the inside as soon as you arrive and lock up any time you leave the studio.
Guests are not permitted in the studio.
Do not let any non-key holders in the studio for any reason. If they are there to pick up work, please tell them to come back during open studio hours.
Sanding is not allowed in the studio. All sanding must be done outside.
In case of fire, there is a fire extinguisher in the kiln room. Please call Jeremy and 911 immediately.
A basic first aid kit is located in the studio.

Never force too much clay through the slab roller. This will break the machine.
Always sandwich your clay in the canvas in a way that will not squeeze out onto the metal rollers. If it accidentally makes contact with the roller, sponge it off thoroughly so it doesn’t cake up and jam the machine.
Never beat the canvas; if it seems caked with clay or dust, please use a sponge to wipe it down.

The studio has different dipping glazes as well as some underglazes for use in the studio. Use of all glaze is included in the price of your clay.
Any pieces on the glaze shelf that have glaze on the bottom or applied to thick will not be loaded into the kiln.
Be sure to wipe all glaze off of the bottom of each piece before placing it on the shelf to be fired.
If you have a glazing oversight that damages a shelf to the extent of needing replacement, you will be charged $80. If a glaze combination you are using drips onto the shelf, please do not attempt the combination again.
All outside glazes must be cone 5 or 6 and, clearly labeled, and approved by Jeremy before use in the studio.
Pieces are typically fired biweekly but may take up to one month to be fired.

The studio has different types of clay available for purchase to members and students.
Pricing (subject to change and will be done so with notice if possible) see pricing board or online shop.
We do not allow outside clays

Community agreements are a set of basic ground rules that folks in the space agree to follow. The goal is to create an open and inclusive space so that every individual has the opportunity to creatively and personally flourish.
An environment of comfort and safety is vital to Wild Pottery’s mission which is to create a space that fosters community, creativity, growth, and healing for people of all ages.
There will be absolutely no racism, transphobia, homophobia, xenophobia, ableism, ageism, classism, fatphobia, sexism or hate of any kind tolerated in the studio.
Respect and use the gender pronouns that people go by. Do not make assumptions about how people identify or what pronouns they use. Rather allow people to share with you or if you are unsure, ask before making an assumption. Also, be patient and kind as others work on their pronoun game.
Be welcoming and patient with new folks as they familiarize themselves with the space.
Respect the creative process of those around you.
We all create in our own unique way and have different needs surrounding our process.
Be flexible and honest with others.
Allow space for quiet, conversations and the possible dance party.
Always keep the volume low enough so that folks who want to listen to their headphones can do so without interference.

Monthly membership dues are owed on the first of each month (first month to be prorated when applicable). This payment should be settup with an automated bank to bank transfer with the studio invoices sent. Please ask for help if you do not know how to set this up.
If membership fees are not paid by the 10th of the month, a $25 late fee will be added to that member’s bill. If payment is still not received after 30 days, the membership will be terminated and the keys and balance will be collected.
In terminating a membership, Full Members are required to give 1 month’s notice. Keys must be returned to receive the $100 key deposit.
Members that fail to give one month’s notice will lose their key deposit and will not be refunded for any portion of the month they have remaining.
Any work or clay still remaining in the studio after membership ends will be thrown out.
Replacement of any lost or damaged keys will be $25/ key.
