Who We Are
We are ultimately just a bunch of kids finding our way with clay.
Kids
Emma is an artist and educator based in Petaluma. Her sculpture and installation work highlights agricultural labor and policy, community belonging, and connection to place. After discovering her love of clay 15 years ago, Emma got her MFA at Mills College and now teaches at UC Berkeley, College of Marin, and Wild Pottery. Emma also leads the NCECA Green Task Force’s Green Learning Community, focused on sharing information on sustainable clay studio practices.
Emma Logan
Alie is a local ceramic artist and educator with a passion for creating artwork with her hands. She has been teaching ceramics since 2020 and currently teaches high school ceramics in Marin. As a longtime member of the local community, Alie loves sharing her enthusiasm for clay and helping students build confidence, explore their creativity, and develop their own artistic voice. Her teaching style is encouraging, hands-on, and focused on enjoying the creative process.
Alie Simpson
Jeremy began pottery in high school and reconnected with the love of clay later in life as an activity with his kids. He has historically worked building youth programming since he was a kid himself. Creating communities through sports and art he has worked and lived in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Honduras and the Bay Area, California. Since 2011 his endeavors have focused on building a non-profit (www.somaaquatics.com) offering equity based free swim programming throughout Marin County, Ca. He is most inspired by his two children who push him to grow and see the world differently on a daily basis.
